Volkswagen Taigun Bags Several Top Awards In India

The Volkswagen Taigun compact SUV has bagged the 'Car of the Year award', at the 2022 carandbike Awards from Indian automotive portal NDTV carandbike. The Made-In-India Volkswagen Taigun also won Autocar India's 'Mid-Size SUV of the Year 2022', TopGear India's 'Mid-Size SUV of the Year 2022', and AutoX's 'Best of 2021' car. The Taigun was also nominated in the 2022 World Urban Car category along with the Opel Mokka and Toyota Yaris cross.The Taigun is Volkswagen’s first car to be built on the new MQB-A0-IN platform and it goes up against the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, and the Skoda Kushaq which shares the same MQB-A0-IN platform. Powering the Taigun in the Nepalese market is a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, TSI petrol engine that is tuned to produce 114 bhp and 178 Nm of torque.The Taigun is available in three trims and two gearbox options. In the Nepalese market, the Taigun will be available in the Dynamic Line variant only. The Taigun is priced at Rs 51.90 Lakh (Comfortline), Rs 52.90 Lakh (Comfortline Plus), Rs 65.90 Lakh (Highline) and Rs 72.90 Lakh (Topline). While the Comfortline trims comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, the latter trims get a six-speed torque-convertor automatic gearbox.Also Read:Volkswagen Taigun: Hustle Mode OnIn terms of design, the Volkswagen Taigun features a two-slat grille with chrome inserts, a muscular elevated bonnet with chiseled lines, LED headlamps with integrated DRLs, 17-inch alloy wheels, an electric sunroof, functional roof rails, Infinity LED tail lamps, an integrated spoiler with a high-mounted stop lamp, and a shark-fin antenna. The Taigun measures 4221mm long, 1760mm wide, and 1612mm high. It gets a wheelbase of 2,651mm. Similarly, boot space is rated at 385 litres.
